Having lived through the Canterbury earthquakes in 2010/2011, I wanted to contribute with the rebuild of Christchurch city. This prompted me to study at the University of Canterbury and graduate with a civil engineering degree, BE(Hons), and work on a wide spectrum of projects, ranging from new builds, alterations, assessments, seismic bracing, temporary works, through to certifying mechanical equipment. This vast extensive experience has given me in-depth industry knowledge allowing me to attain CPEng status in 2020.

I believe in giving back to the community, particularly with inspiring New Zealand’s next generation of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) professionals. Throughout my career I have actively participated in groups and events where I have been able to give back. Examples of this have been being an ambassador for the Wonder Project programme, supervision/advisory role for a University of Canterbury team mechanical final year research project, member for the Young Engineer’s Canterbury committee and a mentor on the Engineering New Zealand mentoring programme.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my young family, snowboarding and supporting the New Zealand Warriors rugby league team.
